Private Dance Lessons

Private dance lessons help students to prepare for auditions, performances, and competitions. Private dance coaching is also beneficial by allowing dancers focused time on specific goals like improving pointe work, jumps, turns, or improvisational skills. Private dance lessons are held in person at the dance studio in Oakland or on Zoom. Zoom lessons do not pay studio rental fees.

“My teen daughter and I love BlackBox Studios! If you are looking for a 'push' in a supportive and fun environment, check out their in-person and online offerings. Theresa, Roberto, and Evan are talented dancers and instructors. We also love supporting Ballet22 and its positive impact in the dance community.”

— Catherine E.

“I love Blackbox Studios! Theresa and Roberto are not only great dancers, but they're great teachers and people as well. They offer high-quality instruction, which is difficult to come by for non-professional adult dance students like me. They're also really care about students, taking the time to check in every class and tailoring each class to the students present.
It's also great to support Ballet22's mission of gender inclusivity in ballet by taking classes here. The feeling of inclusivity carries over to classes in the way that they treat people. Overall, this is a safe space where anyone can come to receive high quality dance instruction.”

Challenging, supportive, and enriching environment. Also fun! Truly feel that these folks are helping advance the future of ballet while having a nice studio for folks like myself.

— Sandy G.

Great dance studio for adult ballet classes. The teachers are kind, fun, and encouraging of dancers at all levels. The extra bonus is their gender inclusive mission and how they are changing the world of ballet!
