Expansion Announcement 2027

Dear families,

We are very excited to announce we have secured a building in our neighborhood on 3235 MacArthur Blvd to expand our offerings at BlackBox Studios. This building will feature two studios, and we will continue to operate out of the School St. location as well. With a total of three studio rooms, we will be able to offer more levels, classes, teachers, and opportunities for all dancers ages 3 to Adult.

The space on MacArthur Blvd will be under construction in the new year with an estimated open in Spring of 2027.

As we start construction, we will be able to give more detailed information and updates about the grand opening. Closer to the opening, we will communicate a more detailed outline of each level, class offerings, placement requirements, tuition, and announce new instructors.

Some classes to look forward to: Tap, Repertoire, and Modern classes for the Youth Division levels, as well as more segmented Pre-Pointe and Pointe levels to support the dancers progress and safety on pointe. We will also be expanding our Adult Division, offering more levels and genres as well.

We would love your support during the construction period. We have a Go Fund Me to help with the expenses. We also plan to offer times to walk through the new space to allow families to experience the before and after, and see the architect’s plans. Contact us if you are interested in learning more about how to support and joining a walk through.

BlackBox Studios opened in 2021 with the dream of providing high quality training in an inclusive space. The philosophy of the studio values high standards of training, supportive and empathetic coaching, and providing students with life skills beyond dance: teamwork, discipline, hard work, resilience, and dedication. It has been an honor to watch the dancers take on these values with kind hearts and self motivation, and we are so grateful for this powerful community that has been built in such a short time.

This expansion marks our commitment to this community and to the dancers. We want students to experience dance as a positive force, to develop their artistry, and be prepared to reach whatever goals they set. We look forward to sharing more information as the construction timeline and open date becomes more clear. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

With gratitude,

Theresa & Ryan
